Payroll System Testing

Working with the Payroll Manager and Data Migration team to understand the current payroll software setup, and how this would transfer into ETL logic.I introduced paycode mapping which needed to consider the paygroup the data was sourced from, and which destination file it was to be applied to, as well as having 'rule' indicators where specific etl treatment was needed - and example being new notional salary pay codes being required for several paycodes, that did not exist in the current structure. I created a suite of records that would give us tools to easily handle changes to the current payroll structure, but require no change (or minimal change) to the transformation logic.I was also largely responsible for the validation of the load files into the new system for both pre-load and post-load, for which I tried various tools before moving into a sql server and writing the almost all code required for the task. To ensure there was a robust validation method I validated YTD figures against a build history of per pay-run data, and helped identify some issues that were correct per the payroll as processed, but would be required to have amendments processed in subsequent pay runs.The Payroll go-live was successful, with only minimal disruption to the businesses payroll experience. Post Go-Live I've created several tools to help with management of data export and report writing by setting up templates to help automate regular tasks, as well as assisting the reporting team with some training on how to adjust these to different needs and maintain the current process.

Working on day-to-day payroll administration for an employee base of 2500+ in a team of 4 and our manager.Currently working on writing up the Standard Operating Procedures for the payroll processes.Have responsibility for the Irish payroll and working on re-structuring the entire Payroll and data storage/archiving.Also responsible for the Irish and UK reconciliations.The team are going through a large project with the continuous improvement team, so we can streamline the function and enhance the employee experience.

I currently work as a payroll co-ordinator with a team of 10 others, running a payroll of 22,000. It has been a time of great change, moving from Northgate’s PS Enterprise software, and a fully managed payroll provider to ADP Global View and a managed system where the day-to-day administration is now being processed in-house.My role is to assist the team in how to use the system, run meaningful reports for internal and external users, I am used as a resource for excel knowledge and I reconcile the payroll entries in the general ledger to the payments made for net pay, PAYE, NIC.I also take calls to assist the employees and follow up to resolution.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Court orders balancing from payroll to accounts package and following that; payment via BACS or cheque, CHAPS Payments, Double entry journals, general payroll queries, balancing P&L form Payroll to accounts package & investigating any discrepancies.
