I received my MSW degree from the University of Oklahoma in the summer of 2019. I received my Bachelor of Social Work degree from Oral Roberts University in 2016, at which time I went to work for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Child Welfare Division. I worked in permanency planning (reunification) for two years, only deciding to leave after starting the MSW program at OU-Tulsa in the Summer of 2018. I am passionate about practicing social work, the therapeutic process, and the belief that people have the capacity for healing and restoration. My future goals include becoming an LCSW and working with individuals and families facing end of life issues, or grief and loss in general. My work at Miller Hospice is focused on guiding families through social and emotional issues related to the dying process. I am so passionate about respecting and cherishing life, through the entire lifespan!

Child Welfare SpecialistOklahoma Department Of Human Services May 2016 - May 2018Tulsa, Oklahoma AreaAs a child welfare specialist with OKDHS, I managed a caseload of 15 or more infants, youth, and/or teenagers in state custody who were in out-of-home placements. I collaborated with parents and other family members to create appropriate, behaviorally-based intervention plans that provided parents and guardians opportunities to current safety conditions. Working in the child welfare division also gave me the opportunity to engage with the juvenile court system, attorneys, Tulsa area service providers, Indian Child Welfare services, mental health professionals, and regional administration within OKDHS. -
