Specializing in Real Estate Investment Trusts “REITs”Frances currently serves on the board of AGNC Investment Corp. (Nasdaq: AGNC), a Mortgage REIT, as an independent director and member of the Audit Committee. Frances served as a Non-Executive Independent Director and a member of the Audit and Risk Committees of Reverse Mortgage Investment Trust, a private finance company operating in the reverse mortgage industry, from 2015 Dec 2020, when the company was sold to a Private Equity buyer.She was CFO of CYS Investments (CYS) from August 2009 - May 2016 and in an advisory role through Feb 2017. CYS, a $1.5B publicly traded Mortgage REIT, was acquired by Two Harbors Investment Corp (TWO) in July 2018. Frances served on the Board of CYS from the initial capitalization in February 2006 to Sept 2009, and was Audit Committee Chair.Frances began her career as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in the UK and moved to New York in 1989. She held positions with Prudential Securities in the U.K. and in the USA, and with asset manager Hyperion Capital Management, and at private equity firm, the Beacon Group. In 1999 she founded Spark Consulting to provide CFO services to early stage technology, media and entertainment companies and became involved in restructuring in 2002 joining a turnaround group managing Cornerstone Propane, a troubled propane trading and distribution company. In 2003 she took on the role of interim CFO at MVC Capital, a BDC, later staying on as CFO and as an investment professional through 2006, making investments in the USA and Europe. From 2006 through 2009 Frances was engaged through Spark Consulting on a variety of strategic advisory and restructuring assignments helping companies experiencing financial, strategic and operational challenges improve operations and grow their businesses.Frances is a member of National Association of Corporal Directors (“NACD”) and is a Managing Director of Golden Seeds, an angel investment group.
