I graduated in May 2020 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) degree from Auburn University. I graduated from UAB with my MAc in May 2021. I started my career as a tax associate in public accounting in 2021. In 2023, I began working as an Accountant for AGP. I am currently sitting for my CPA exam.>Experiences Through my accounting internship, I went through the process of preparing client files and importing the information for tax returns. I learned how to use Quickbooks, CaseWare, and CCH accounting software. During my time in public accounting, I mainly prepared LIHTC and partnership returns. The affordable housing industry is growing rapidly and it was very interesting to learn about, especially from a tax view. >Education In Summer 2020 I took two information security courses that I found intriguing. It was eye-opening to learn more about IS and the cybersecurity issues we are facing constantly, as well as the issues that come with evolving technology. Two classes I particularly enjoyed were Tax Research and Web Analytics. Web analytics was a unique course because I was instructed to design a website based on my personal preferences. We then learned more about the collection and use of website data and were able to track the metrics of the site, which I found to be a beneficial learning experience.
