Francesca manages research and evaluation activities at the National Literacy Trust to help create robust evidence around writing and writing for pleasure. She is also an independent scholar and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy with visiting teaching duties in higher education. Her research interest lies in the exploration (including the pedagogical implications) of how the production and reception of literary language can contribute to humanity’s increasingly interdisciplinary efforts to understand the hard problem of consciousness.
