Model identication for the development of an articial pancreas.When using MPC control for regulating the glucose level in the blood the use of a good model of the human body is mandatory. My contribution to this project consisted in developing a black-box model identification approach able to identify a personalized model for each patient by using closed-loop data.

The goal of the project was to devise and implement an algorithm for theupdate of a linear black box model when a previous version of the modelcan no longer be employed by the Model Predictive Control (MPC) due toaging of its parameters. The update performed by exploiting closed loopdata and prior knowledge in a Bayesian framework. Testing of such methodwas done on a cement production plant. Compared to a total ground-upidentication of the model, our method yielded a signicantly better closedloop performance of the MPC controller.
