I created Diary of a Yorkshire Gardener back in 2020 while stuck working from home during the COVID-19 lockdowns. Tending to my fruits and veggies every day not only got me outside for fresh air, it also kept my spirits up during what was a really tough time for everyone. I’m a keen advocate for gardening for mental health!I now grow both at home and at my allotment! We’ve become self sufficient on many different kitchen staples which has helped us save money on our food bill, eat healthier, and seasonally. I preserve as much as I can for all year round eating too! I love to experiment and grow unusual varieties alongside the normal ones.We have 3 Silkie hens which provide us with all the eggs we could ever need too!I post on social media (mostly Instagram) about what I’m growing and harvesting, as well as some tips and advice along the way.I love working with brands to express my creative ideas in the garden, try new products and support gardening businesses. I hope to inspire other people to try growing their own food and to realise the benefits gardening may have for them.
