Francesca Duranti, dancer and performer, started acting at the age of seventeen with the international project Voyage du Geste with which she continues working in Italy, France, Lebanon, Belgium. She has trained in rythmic gymnatic, ballet and contemporary dance in Italy and in the major dance institutions in Europe and in New York City. She has also been part of several theatre projects as an actress.She has a Ph.D. in Dance Studies and Comparative Literature with a thesis on myth and tragedy in the choreography of Martha Graham and Virgilio Sieni and a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures. She has performed in Italy, France, Lebanon, Germany and New York with, among others, Kinkaleri, Xing, Cristina Rizzo, Simona Bertozzi, Daniele Albanese (STALKer), Compagnia Giardino Chiuso, Cie. Subito Presto (FR), Gabriella Secchi, Nicholas Rowe. Since 2009 she has created her own dances, among which Non so come stare (selected to be part of Festival Ammutinamenti 2012, for Vetrina Giovane Danza d'Autore and toured in several dance festivals in Italy and abroad), COEURPS (2014), STRANIERO (2015), Dionysian Fields (2017), PenelopeX (2022). She teaches contemporary dance in Siena, Florence and Bologna. She has worked at Ateneo della Danza in Siena inside the experimental performance project EX.PE and in several other places in Siena and Florence. She has choreographed works for Accademia Chigiana di Siena, working with Alessio Pizzech and Cesare Scarton.
