During my research period as a visiting doctoral student, I am collaborating in the Applied Computational Linguistics (CompLing) Discourse Research Lab, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Manfred Stede. Our joint work primarily revolves around the analysis of textual content that focuses on climate change, environmental, and ecological issues. This collaboration integrates diverse computational methods to deepen our understanding of discourse patterns in these critical areas.

I conduct academic research in NLP (Natural Language Processing) and HCI (Human-Computer Interaction). I am involved in several academic projects: my research interests include domain-specific training of Language Models on environmental and climate change topics, multilingual knowledge modeling, mental model of conversational agents users, hate speech detection with a focus on body shaming, investigation of biases in LLMs.Apart from my research activity, I am an active member of several academic entities, including the Social Computing Research Group, the Computer Science Department Board (as Ph.D. students representative), and the Ph.D. Committee (as Ph.D. students representative).I co-organized and chaired the International Workshop on Knowledge Management and Process Mining for Law (KM4Law), now in its third edition (first at EKAW 2022, secondly at FOIS 2023, now at FOIS 2024). I co-organized and chaired the 1st Workshop on Biased Data in Conversational Agents at ECML-PKDD 2023. I am part of the Organizing Committee for the 29th International Conference on Natural Language & Information Systems (NLDB 2024), serving as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair.In a collaborative internship with Almawave, a company specializing in NLP techniques, my focus has been on investigating corporate communication to identify unsustainable business practices.

Academic research activities in the field of NLP (Natural Language Processing) and HCI (Human-Computer Interaction), performed both autonomously and in a team (cooperation with computer scientists):- Lexical-semantic analysis and annotation of dialogues for the implementation of NLP techniques into Conversational Agents (chatbots);- Development of strategies for HCI modelling, with particular attention to users (mental models);- Support to automatic approaches for information processing (lexical semantics);- Text annotation activity for the development of knowledge models.

Development and implementation of NLP (Natural Language Processing) techniques for the design of Conversational Agents and automatic transcription technologies:- Language data manipulation - Italian language: data cleaning, data entry, transcriptions.- Language data manipulation - German language: generation of grammars, data cleaning on generated grammars for the development of conversational systems.

Application and implementation of tools and techniques for the design and development of NLP complex systems:Language data manipulation applied to Italian automotive domain corpora (data annotation, cleaning, manipulation, and entry; part-of-speech tagging).
