Communications Manager
Responsible for supporting Maine Conservation Voters and Maine Conservation Alliance's missions, strategic plans, and priorities ensuring that MCV/MCA is a prominent and respected voice on environmental issues and politics in Maine. Plays a pivotal role in engaging media and works closely with policy, political, organizing, and development staff to strategize, plan and implement communications tactics that elevate the identity of the organizations, engaging Maine people in MCV/A's work, and forwards their policies and campaigns. Specifically:•Develops and executes organizational and campaign messaging that drives conservation policy and campaign wins;•Serves as primary point of contact for the media, drafts press releases, statements, and opinion pieces, and organizes and executes press conferences and other earned media events; •Serves as the lead staff for the creation of video, digital and printed communications materials. This includes working with outside vendors. Products include: MCV’s annual Environmental Scorecard, organizational videos, impact reports, and campaign materials;•Generates creative new ways to mobilize MCV’s membership digitally to influence policymakers and win campaigns. Includes overseeing digital content, growth, and engagement for social media, organizational websites, and working with development staff to create online campaigns to achieve fundraising goals;•Cultivates and fosters relationships with key spokespeople and communications staff from partner organizations and determines how the organizations can best bring our communications expertise and resources to advance coalition efforts;•Manages EveryAction database and its full suite of capabilities;•Develops annual goals, metrics, and work plans;•Evaluates and tracks communications results, and helps develop strategies to improve performance.
