As the Director of Advocacy Services, my role oversees the entire direct services team providing support services to survivors of domestic violence at the Rose Andom Center. The Rose Andom Center operates on the Family Justice Center model and was the first FJC to open in the state of Colorado. Our goal is to provide one location for survivors to access resources and support. As such, this role involves high levels of collaboration between community partner organizations and system-based agencies. The role also involves the guidance, supervision, and training of all staff working directly with clients. In total, the role directly supervises 10 staff working in three different programs.

In this role, I worked in collaboration with our non-profit partner agency to develop a new re-entry services residential program, aiming at approaching women's re-entry through a trauma-informed and gender responsive lens. This program took a revolutionary approach to re-entry services for women by holistically addressing all aspects of the clients it served. My role was to aid in the development of the program and the supervision of the Operations Team. While in the first two years of the program, I worked to create systems of documentation and auditing to ensure compliance and progress forward.

In this role, I ran the Domestic Violence Fast Track program for the District Attorney's Office. It was my responsibility to contact victims of domestic violence, at both the misdomeaner and felony levels, for initial case support. This involved clear explanation of processes, client advocacy, and advisory support for the DA handling arraignments. My position maintained assignment of the case in the beginning stages, with the primary goal of facilitating plea agreements and moving offenders into treatment options quickly.

In this role, I primarily facilitated pro-social and restorative justice programming with youth detained at Mount View Youth Services Center. The youth held at this treatment facility varied from first time offenders to those with committed sentences to the Division of Youth Services. As a result, my role largely centered around understanding the differing needs and concerns with all youth under my care. Many of these youth experienced significant histories of trauma or abuse and require a trauma-informed approach to communication. In this role I received considerable training on trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques, and motivational interviewing.

The Pay for Success program is a pilot program underneath the FamilyStrong branch of the Denver Collaborative Partnership. The program's goal is to determine if intervention services targeted towards runaway youth help to reduce juvenile justice or human services involvement. As a Rapid Responder, my role is to connect with families that have reported a runaway youth to the Denver Police Department, develop rapport, assess for needs, and make referrals based upon my assessment. Since participation in the program is voluntary, I must rely heavily on fostering a relationship of trust with the families that I work with. The program is a pilot program and I have heavily been involved in its development and adaptation.

Savio Management Group acts as a fiscal manager for several contracts with juvenile justice agencies throughout Colorado. My role in this position was to manage the Denver Collaborative Partnership contract and all of the funding streams for programs underneath it. Each month I would review the services provided to clients of the DCP to ensure that appropriate services were provided and provider billing was accurate. I also provided assistance on the statewide Division of Youth Services contract for billing management. Additionally, I largely served as the liaison between the providers and the juvenile justice agencies to ensure that the needs of each partner were met.
