The Filipinx-American Teaching Artist acts as Resident Teaching Artist at Bessie Carmichael Elementary School and the Filipino Education Center. Part of the commitment involves designing an art curriculum that incorporates monthly themes from the BCE/FEC cultural calendar, in which students participate in discussions and art-making around their transition to a new home in the U.S.
