At Batley I was lucky enough to be working in a multi-disciplinary team, within a semi-professional club. It was a great opportunity to see how a club at a higher level ran. I provided massage during training sessions and on match days, enhancing my skills as a masseuse.

University Of Hull

This placement opportunity gave me experience in booking patients in, clinic maintenance, carrying out full subjective and objective assessments and implementing rehabilitation plansMoreover I provided solo pitchside care for HURFC biweekly, including pre match treatments and prophylactic strapping. Whilst in the clinic I upheld the standards of care outlined by BASRaT and started to become an autonomous practitioner and developed skills in making decisions and problem solving. I also refined my communication skills particularly my bedside manner with patients.

Pocklington

I worked alongside the team physiotherapist during the biweekly training sessions and assisted with pitch-side first aid on match days. I carried out assessments, treatments and management of a range of injuries during the clinic. This placement also provided me with the opportunity to provide sport massage at a variety of events including triathlons and cycling events.

Beverley

During my first assessed placement at Beverley RUFC I worked alongside a GSR. Providing 2 weekday clinics during training and covering both home and away games for pitch-side first aid. I assisted in assessing and treating players as well as creating and implementing rehabilitation plans.
