Responsible for all finance and HR aspects of the company

I am currently finance manager of four close ended real estate investment funds accounting for EUR 0.9 billion of AUM, of which: (i) a Luxembourg speculative investment fund (fund of fund), (ii) one core-core plus Italian fund (high street retail), (iii) two speculative investment funds (office and public administration assets). In the quality of finance manager I am responsible for all the aspects connected to accounting (financial statements, management of the audit process, supervision and coordination of accounting service providers), treasury (authorization of payment, cash flow monitoring), corporate finance (establishment, management and amendments of bank loans), tax (final responsibility of tax payment and tax return, coordination of tax advisors), corporate governance (coordination of board of directors, shareholder meetings, advisory boards, and preparation of the relevant reports and supporting papers including the review of minutes) and partly compliance (Bank of Italy requirements).In addition I support the investment/disinvestment process providing the tax and financing underwriting rationales, including (i) the preparation of the paperwork for the board of directors and advisory committees to take the relevant decisions, (ii) the negotiation of bank loans, (iii) the set up of the acquisition structure and (iv) the implementation of the financial acquisition technicalities (equity subscriptions, equity calls, investor agreements).

My role consisted predominantly in providing support to both Finance and Treasury Managers. This implied that my activities have split between these two separate but complementary areas. This provided a solid and wide base for my current role.My activities in the Treasury department mainly included:Day to day management of existing loan facilities; support to the Treasury Manager in the negotiation of waivers, extensions, refinancing, restructuring of the existing facilities or in the structuring of new financing and new hedging agreements; treasury management. My activity in the Finance department was mainly focused on the quarterly accountancy closing, (check of data registered in general ledgers, preparation of reporting packages, support to the Finance Manager in the overview on the consolidated financial statement, preparation of the financial statement for regulated funds, preparation on the manager report of the consolidated financial statement, check and completion of the notes to the consolidated financial statement); specific reporting requested by the Bank of Italy for regulated funds; preparation of specific internal reporting files; support to the Finance Manager in the preparation of legal/statutory documentation; ad hoc analysis on finance matter; management of the audit process.

Within the Finance department, I was in charge of the operational management of Italian SPV (Special Purpose Vehicles) held by Luxembourg investment funds. The operational management of the vehicles included: management of the archive/correspondence; day to day relationship with external providers (accountants, property manager, asset manager etc.); execution of payments; support in the management of corporate documentation.
