Employment Support Team

Managing a team of 27 people within the service, leading in a person centred way ensuring the service is delivered within budget, achieving KPI's within each funding contract. The service is built on the philosophy is that anyone can work regardless of their disadvantage, as long as it is the right opportunity, its the right time for the individual and the right support is in place.I am responsible for horizon scanning to see where the gaps in provision my be, identifying and applying for funding to ensure the service is continued to be delivered to the residents in the city. Ensuring the service is led and delivered within SCC's objectives and vision balancing commercial demands as well as the needs of the clients. Stakeholder management is vital to this role ensuring all stakeholders are communicated with and their needs are met. Networking is essential to collaborative working and is a key strength of mine, identifying connections with others. Finance management ensuring income for the team covers resourcing of the project and service delivery.Professional development is very important to me as demonstrated by the 2 apprenticeships I have completed. I am always looking for the next professional development opportunity and work within the CMI framework for Chartered Managers. Staff development is essential and I lead by example, I support my team to develop through shadowing, training an apprenticeships. I use file audits as a way to upskill the team, and discuss this in monthly 1:1 sessions which are essential as are completing quarterly reviews of PDR's.I am required to attend community events, to engage with the community and utilise the networking opportunities.I organise large scale events including jobs fairs, wellbeing fairs and also confident at delivering workshops and training to professionals and members of the public.

Developing current employment support provision across Southampton, identifying new funding and partnership opportunities. Managing staff and project management. Projects within my portfolio are: NEETS 15-24 STEP project, T.E.E.M and Self-Employment project, PATH perinatal mental health project and Solent Employment Support project. Funding for the projects is made up of internal money, ESIF and 2Seas funding.

Conducting wedding ceremonies both in the registry office and in licensed venues across the city. Duties included interviewing the happy couples and ensuring the wedding ceremonies were delivered professionally and sensitively, being inclusive and speaking clearly.

Working with clients to ensure their expectations were met, designing and creating bespoke floral arrangements. Using colour therapy where floral bouquets were being delivered to unwell people. Ensuring brides received the flowers of their dreams for their big days. Funeral flowers were always created with the clients input to ensure the flowers were perfect to send someone off. I specialise in Eastern contemporary floristry, qualified in Ikebanna through the Sougetsu school of Ikebanna, creating simple and avant garde arrangements, working with fresh beautiful blooms.
