I am a Ph.D. candidate in Sociocultural Anthropology at UNC-Chapel Hill (USA). I have obtained a M.A. in Sociocultural Anthropology at UNC, and a Graduate Certificate in International Peace and Conflict Resolution. I have been a Maynard Adams Fellow for the Public Humanities (2020-2021), and I am a Rotary Peace Alumna (2016-2018).My recent MA project (UNC-CH) has explored the collaborations and tensions between the Human Rights advocates and the Indigenous authorities and movements in the Cauca region, Colombia, in the immediate post-Accord period (2017). My Ph.D. project interrogates how peasant settler communities are being affected by the current emergence of the Rights of Nature, and their complex and contradictory enforcement in the Amazon region of Colombia. My current research involves communities in the north-western region of the Colombian Amazon. I have completed an International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance at Fordham University, NYC, USA (2009). I have worked in the Human Rights field, in local and international NGOs, for over 10 years (2006-2016). During this period, I engaged in institutional and community-based projects, HRBA advocacy initiatives, training and capacity building processes of local and national child protection systems, in Brazil (2004-2005), Ethiopia (2006-2007), Bolivia (2008-2011), and Paraguay (2011-2016). Previous to my career in INGOs, I worked as a cultural organizer and a theatre educator in schools and suburbs in Milan, Italy (2001-2004) and in community-based projects in Brazil (2004-2005), mainly in conflictive and marginal communities. My training and experience in the psycho-social field include community theatre (Milan, Italy: 2001-2004); popular education and Theatre of the Oppressed (Brazil: 2004-2005; Ethiopia: 2006-2007; Bolivia: 2008-2010); Morenian psychodrama (Paraguay and Argentina: 2011-2015); Biocentric education (Argentina and Brazil: 2014-2015).I am fluent in four languages: Italian, Spanish, English, Portuguese. I have a good understanding of French and Catalan, and basic communication skills in Amharic.
