In my role as Head of Dance Activities, I also design and manage the extra-curricular dance programs for the Infant, Junior, Middle and High Schools, managing a team of teachers, and providing opportunities for performance. As part of this role, I orchestrate two annual dance productions at the school: Culturama, a student led anthology of culturally inspired dance works celebrating diversity; and Dance Showcase, a staff and student led themed showcase celebrating a range of extra-curricular dance work in multiple genres. Student involvement in the dance activities programs at UWC East are at an all time high, with almost 300 students involved in Culturama alone. This year I will be introducing a thrid dance platform for exam work, a showcase of dance works completed by students as part of the GCSE and International Baccalaureate courses.In my role as mentor I provide pastoral support, deliver the PSE program and coach students 1:1 to ensure that their progression through the high school is healthy, productive, enjoyable and safe.
