Francesca Tuazon, Ph.D. Email and Phone Number
I'm a quantitative developmental biologist turned writer, speaker, and nonprofit founder. I believe that by embracing the Art in the Science, we can build a more inclusive and innovative world. In 2023, I founded Science& (www.scienceand.org) with the mission to retain and advance more scientists from historically excluded groups in research and discovery and leadership positions.Science& is a nonprofit and social impact organization that empowers professional scientists from underrepresented groups with essential, but untaught skills. These skills are rooted in science communication (visual, written, and oral) and resilience. Our unique approach translates these skills from the visual, written, and performance arts to the practical needs of scientists. And it works - our workshops, trainings, and keynotes are proven to build core professional competencies as well as belonging, cultural awareness, and resilience. As Founder/CEO, I leverage my unique combination of scientific and artistic expertise, dedication to DEI in STEM, and experience as a community activist and educator. Anything that I create, from writing, speaking, or nonprofit programming, will be compassionate, inclusive, and actionable.I am an inspiring public speaker with charisma and relatability. As a leader, I am a deep listener, confidently humble, and tenaciously committed to Science&'s values (Inclusion & Respect, Mutualism, and Joyful Discovery).Reach out if you have questions, would like to contribute to Science&, or have ideas on how we can increase our impact together!
