RESEARCHER at UNICEF Innocenti - Global Office of Research and Foresight, Florence, ItalyAs part of the social and economic policy unit of UNICEF Office of Research - Innocenti, I work on two research streams: 1. Transfer Project/GRASSP: I work on impact evaluations of cash transfer programs integrated with other interventions or services (e.g. WASH, gender, child protection, etc.) in Sub-Saharan Africa. I support research activities in Burkina Faso, Mali and Ethiopia. Research skills: designed research studies, prepared all field material, including ethical procedures, developed and tested survey instruments, and coordinated overall field activities. My research interest is particularly focused on the linkages between social protection and child protection issues and migration.Managerial skills: Liaised with UNICEF country offices and members of governmental partners; overall management of projects.2. Child Poverty/Child Wellbeing/Innocenti Report Card and other research in high-income countries: I coordinate a multi-country project on children's experiences and perception of Covid-19 in Italy, Canada, Madagascar, Lesotho and Angola. As part of the qualitative research project in Italy, I worked directly with children by collecting qualitative data with children, including Unaccompanied and Separated Children, children from low socio-economic backgrounds and LGBTQI+ adolescents.

I teach a course to bachelor students in Social Work on “Sociology of Childhood(s) and Child Rights International Instruments” where I also reflect on effective child protection systems for migrant children.

I supported REACH activities on the research project “Key Challenges andCoping Strategies of Refugee and Migrant Children in Libya”. Together with other colleagues, I carried out field missions in first and second reception centres throughout Sicily where I conducted one-on-one interviews with unaccompanied and separated children recently arrived in Italy.

I supported Terre des Hommes Germany's advocacy activities on the topic of children's rights and the environment. In particular, I helped the project team to develop an internal report containing findings, guidelines and recommendations to improve the way the Committee on the Rights of the Child references environmental issues in their concluding observations to ratifying countries. The report was presented to the Committee on the Rights of the Child at Palais Wilson during a meeting organized to advocate for the drafting of a General Comment on Children's Rights and the Environment.

Gathered and managed two-round systems electoral data for countries around the world to support a quasi-experimental research design on elections conducted by a research team at the Harvard Business School.

• Responsible for the overall coordination of impact evaluation activities for the Ghana Commercial Agricultural Project (GCAP) in Ghana, liaised with GCAP project implementation unit, under the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), the World Bank project implementation team in Ghana, and the WB team of researchers in Washington DC.• Designed research projects, drafted concept notes and policy briefs, carried out data analysis and management, presented results to key stakeholders, led workshops with local partners, participated in official World Bank missions. • Conducted focus group discussions with project beneficiaries to understand critical issues and intra-household dynamics with the view of developing studies on gender in agriculture. • Organized and supervised data collection activities (with multiple teams and field staff), including budget management and logistics.

Collaborated with the overall design phase of the research project and liaised with local partners. Prepared official documents to involve local contractors in the study, led the HR activities to select a field coordinator; piloted and pre-tested the first draft of the household questionnaire in the surroundings of Nairobi in coordination with project’s partners.

I worked on the “Hunger for Trade” project, a global theatre project on food security and in the realization of the “Mest” theater production directed by Guy Dermul. I supervised a group of students to generate documentation on agricultural economics and food security through secondary data reviews and collection of primary data. I represented the KVS Theatre at the Hunger for Trade conference in Hamburg from November 27th to December 3rd, 2013.“Hunger for Trade" is an international collaboration between nine theatres across four continents. It is an inter-cultural performing arts response to the global food crisis. Overseen by the Schauspielhaus in Hamburg with other partners in France, Belgium, Mali, South Africa, Bangladesh and Brazil.

Worked on the endline phase of the research project “Enterprises and Income Generating Activities (IGAs) Support”. Key responsibilities: cleaning and management, recruitment, hiring and training of surveyors, field monitoring and supervision.
