This was my first experience working in a specialist provision and although a brief stint, provided me with invaluable skills in positive behaviour management and how to cater better for children with special educational needs.Responsibilities included: Assisting children with their basic needs, encouraging them to participate in their learning and supporting their communication using visual aids and PECs, as well as through play.

I began and completed my NQT year here, earning a final grade of A. Here, I learnt a great deal on how to differentiate work for the children and how to teach children how to read and write, using in part Letters and Sounds. Uploading stories from the paper edition on to the web and catering for an online audience with additional media, on a freelance basis

I pitch, source and write lifestyle features on a broad specturm of subjects, from fashion to viral.During my time here, I have interviwed the likes of Anthea Turner, Nancy Dell'Olio and Mr Motivator, and have even gone 'under the knife' to research my features.Alongside writing copy, I source and edit pictures as well as generating headlines to entice our readers.

While subbing primarily online, I also worked as a sub-editor for the print version, phone and tablet versions of the brand.As well as proofing content and checking for errors or legal issues, I also created headlines to cater for each medium.

I moderated user content on our forums as well as vetting comments on articles. I also edited and wrote copy based on the biggest debates from our online community, and helped seed and provoke discussions.During this time i had stints on our radio station, did a job swap as a sub-editor on the paper as well as working with the politics team in Westminster.
