I founded the Working & Learning Partnership with two colleagues. We are a specialist consultancy focused on higher level workforce development and work-based learning. We designed, developed and delivered an in-house degree programme for staff working at Asda which was launched in October 2012, validated by Middlesex University. More than sixty five students have graduated from the programme with nineteen of those achieving First Class Honours. The success of the programme led Asda to integrate it fully into their professional development programme for store managers from 2016.

I founded Tola Consulting as an independent higher education consultancy providing design, development and delivery of work-based higher education programmes, including Higher Apprenticeships.Clients include the Cathedrals’ Workshop Fellowship, a collaboration between nine Anglican cathedrals, for whom I designed and developed a unique work-based Foundation degree programme for crafts people working in cathedrals and historic buildings. I now lead the team of specialists who deliver the programme which is in its tenth year of delivery. To date thirty nine crafts men and women have successfully completed the programme.Past clients include City & Guilds for Business, the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters of Glass and the National Apprenticeship Service.

I have been working with the Cathedrals' Workshop Fellowship (CWF) since 2008, initially through a project initiated whilst I was working at Foundation Degree Forward, and then as one of my first clients when I founded Tola Consulting.The CWF is a collaboration between nine Anglican cathedrals who directly employ stonemasons and other heritage crafts people, to develop and deliver university level education and training to ensure the highest standards of conservation and repair to their historic buildings. I worked initially with the CWF to interpret and translate their education and skills development requirements into a recognised HE qualification, a Foundation degree in Applied Historic Building Conservation and Repair. Since 2010 thirty nine crafts people have successfully completed the programme and a further eleven students will commence their studies in September 2019.I am now leading Phase 2 of the CWF project, advising on strategic development with a focus on sustainability and outreach activity, whilst continuing to manage the delivery of the Foundation degree programme, providing the first-line quality assurance and the key linkage between the CWF and their validating partner, the University of Gloucestershire. Key achievements include:- Creation of a unique work-based Foundation degree for cathedral stonemasons- Shortlisting and selection of the HE validation partner- Successfully negotiating Institutional Approval of the CWF- Achieving Validated status as a Collaborative Partner of the University of Gloucestershire- Training and developing a team of specialist tutors- Growing the initial programme to meet employer demand for additional craft pathways for Carpenter/Joiners and Heritage Electricians and Heritage Plumbers.- Launching the CWF website in 2017- Opening the programme to commercial heritage contractors in 2019

The Aviation Skills Partnership (now Foundation) was a client from January 2013. Key achievements include:- Creation of a unique Higher Apprenticeship Framework for commercial airline pilots- Design and development of a work-based degree for airline pilots, the first degree in the UK to fully integrate professional pilot training and provide trainee pilots with a recognised qualification alongside their pilot licence- Design and development of parallel degrees for helicopter pilots and flight instructors- Design of a work-based framework for aviation engineering training

Foundation Degree Forward was set up to help drive forward policy change in higher education and to facilitate and promote workforce development at a high level. We worked with employers, Universities, FE Colleges and private training providers to add value to organisations through work-based learning. Based in the SW of England I worked with CEOs and Finance Directors both in the region and nationally to establish partnerships and projects which introduced and embedded the concept of higher level work-based learning.

Responsible for partnerhsip programme development and quality assurance, working with the University's Further Education partner colleges.
