I had to investigate and plan the most appropriate route for shipments taking in to account the perishable or hazardous nature of the goods, cost, transit times and security. Whilst in this position I implemented a new system workbook to upload the orders to, this would then automatically transfer all the information needed for different factories and our third-party courier company. This cut down the workload meaning that we only needed a part time member of staff to complete this job. During this time, I was also asked to become a senior operations coordinator due the knowledge I had gained within the ornamental fish industry since starting work for the company.
