About Francesca Sangiorgi
My main experience is in scientific research. My research focuses on climate and environmental change in the past, especially in the circum-Antarctic region, natural climate variability vs human impact in coastal areas (e.g., Gulf of Mexico, Mediterranean), ecology of coastal areas, harmful algal blooms. I have been teaching several courses during in the last 15 years at bachelor and master level. I have experience in courses and projects coordination, in organising conferences, symposia and workshops, scientific writing.Since 2018 I am program leader of the Master Marine Sciences at Utrecht University, Faculty of Geosciences. Many bright Dutch and international students looking for (applied) research to improve the quality of (marine) waters and environment.
