- Design active and passive loudspeaker systems to meet the specified requirements for performance and cost.- Translate product requirements into acoustic design options- Select, specify, and evaluate transducers as necessary- Design and test horns, cabinets and passive crossovers. - Design and test digital filters.- Design loudspeaker cabinets including dimensions, materials, and construction techniques.- Perform tests on components and complete systems to include power handling, impedance, transfer function, frequency response and polar response.- Measure and analyze loudspeaker performance using MLSSA, LMS, Clio , and other test systems as required.- Create mathematical models of loudspeakers using LEAP, LSPcad, Soundeasy and other programs. Analyze the results and incorporate them into new designs and design improvements. - Create DSP settings to allow customers to design speakers into fixed and portable installations.- Assemble prototype loudspeakers.- Evaluate loudspeaker, and loudspeaker component, failures and discrepancies. Develop and test corrective actions.- Create bills of materials for new loudspeakers.- Create development schedules for assigned projects, track project status against the schedule and communicate to engineering management- Evaluate design options through comprehensive computer modeling and extensive measurements and critical listening on physical prototypes. Engage support groups as necessary- Closely co-operate with mechanical, systems, and DSP engineers to select the best design for the product.- Develop production ready designs and maintain highest performance throughout the development cycle- Support manufacturing startup and continuous engineering - Proven track record of designing high quality audio products- Methodical and scientific approach to any technical problem- 15+ years of direct product development experience in international audio pro industries.
