In the scope of Ericsson’s products worldwide market, I’m involved in the engineering team by acting as troubleshooter on live TLC networks to support Telecom Operators to keep high performance of their networks.This role has brought me to gain knowledge and competence about:• TLC architectures like GSM, UMTS and LTE; • TLC networks like CS, PS and IMS (VoLTE-oriented); • TLC standards like ETSI, ANSI, ITU-T, 3GPP, OSI; • TLC protocols like SS7 signalling (at application layer RANAP, BSSAP, BICC, MAP, TCAP, INAP, CAMEL, ISUP, at network layer SCCP, MTP3) SIP-I, H248, SIP, SGsAP, S1-AP, NAS, GTP-Cv2, GTP-U, Diameter, RTP/RTCP;• Use of a whole bunch of tools to sniff and analyse TLC protocols; Moreover, it has also provided me:• a large view of a TLC network at system level, that helps to fix network configuration problems; • a detailed view at software level of a TLC CS-CN Ericsson-based, that helps to quickly fix application errors.To take advantage of my knowledge, in the scope of Ericsson Market Customization Program, often I’m involved in the so called MDE team to act as Solution Architect in order to design adaptable solutions for market customizations based on market requirements, directly becoming from the Telecom Operators in the world. Sometimes, I’m directly involved in the software development process as well. Finally, I’m usually involved, in the scope of new Ericsson’s products deliveries, in the integration and validation team to perform:• integration of new products (software and/or hardware) in live TLC networks of Telecom Operators;• validation of new products by executing, together with the customer, demo traffic scenarios depending on the new features is being introduced (SW and/or HW).Most important projects in last years have been being: • integration of new MSC-S’ blade/cluster architecture-based in the TIM live network;• gradual set up of the TIM IMS network (VoLTE-based) by implementing CSFB and SR-VCC solutions.
