Francesco Naddeo is a mechanical engineer working in the field of consulting for the development of both innovative materials and structures and for concept design. He also carries out research activities as postdoctoral researcher at the University of Salerno (IT). His research work is focused on writing algorithm managing parametric-variational 3D finite element (FE) models and advanced CAD/FE parametric variational models of:– Existing porous products, space frame based structures, 3D textiles and 3D fabrics for the optimization of morphology-related properties (homogenized mechanical properties, ergonomic properties, transport properties, heat transfer capabilities, ventilating capacity, etc);– Novel innovative porous materials and support structures in the context of Cushioning (mattress components) and Computer Aided Tissue Engineering (scaffolds);– Novel innovative composites (Nano-micro composites filled with nano-particles, nano-tubes, etc).He has developed several original algorithms to design and optimize innovative tailor-made material/structures to produce via additive manufacturing techniques. He published several scientific papers on international journals and presented research works at several international conferences related to “Computer-Aided Tissue Engineering”, scaffold design and production, parametric simulation of nanocomposite materials, design of novel composite materials and development of medical devices to be used during surgeries. He has also developed several patents (Italian and European) regarding medical devices and production of load adaptive bone scaffolds.He collaborates with Italian companies for the optimization of existing products with regard to mechanical performance in a "green" perspective and he had international collaborations with leading producers and suppliers of high-quality 3D polymeric mats and composites for the optimization of innovative products currently on the market. He is founding partner and R&D Manager of “H-Opera S.r.l.” a University Spin-off (innovative Start-up) whose target is to design, produce and sell innovative customized devices and prostheses in the context of bone diseases and injuries.He does technical consulting (since 2011) for several Courts in Italy in the context of the Biomechanics applied on brain and spine injuries caused by vehicle accidents.His ten years of experience in both scientific research and consulting for several Italian courts have contributed to the growth of technical skills in writing projects and technical reports.
