Design, architecture, and building sciences have always been a passion of mine and what I attribute to being the main reasons I find myself within the technical building material industry. I first began selling building materials at the nearby hardware store when I started working at the age of fifteen. During that time I curated and specialized my studies to expose myself to the fundamentals of architecture, engineering, design and auto-cad. It was then when I first began to find myself not only as a specialist in customer service, advising clients of both design and alternative products, but also as a technical, detailed and analytical individual striving to learn the idiosyncrasy of each product.I remember being seventeen and nearing graduation when I was tasked with reviewing a client's custom built log home. I was to advise them of the different window, door and exterior façade systems available. It was my first attempt at such a project, and to say it was overwhelming is an understatement. Once I started though I found my abilities had grown, and I could now handle such a task with confidence and ease. Eventually this blossomed into an early career within the architectural glass industry, specifically the sale of fabricated manufactured goods. I carried with me my passion for technical products and began to develop my skills of negotiation and account management. Today I manage a highly motivated and accomplished sales team in my home province of British Columbia. While it presents its own unique set of challenges, in these past few years I have found myself flourishing in my new role as management. Stepping away from the one-on-one time with clients and handing it off to my team members wasn’t easy, but with time being able to provide my team with the tools, guidance and knowledge to facilitate their success has become one of my most rewarding experiences to date. Working in this industry from such a young age helped define who I am as a person. I consider glass fabrication a part of my being and I primarily attribute my success to my belief that transparency and open communication are the fundamentals that build long and repeat working relationships.Want to know more about me?
