Hello, my name is Francesco Viavattene, but most people call me Frankie! I am a 2020 graduate of Nazareth College with a B.S. in Biology. I am currently a part-time Dental Assistant and a recent graduate at the University at Buffalo with an M.A. in Biological Sciences. I am currently a member of the Dziak Lab in the Oral Biology Department, where we are studying/ developing a material, nano calcium sulfate, that can be used to enhance bone regeneration at defects in the jaw bones of humans. My current research is regarding the effects of nCS and tricalcium silicate on osteoblastic growth. My ultimate goal is to go to dental school to get my D.D.S. Along with my degree and research experience, I have over 5000 clinical hours of assisting in general dentistry, oral surgery, and periodontics. I was also a four-year member of the Men’s Soccer team at Nazareth College.
