Progetto ENVIFATELa disciplina contamination modeling permette di fornire un supporto per la valutazione della qualità e del rischio ambientale fornendo stime predittive di concentrazione di potenziali contaminanti in funzione dei parametri chimico-fisici coinvolti. Per le pubbliche amministrazioni, ma anche per gli operatori privati sta diventando sempre più importante poter disporre di strumenti semplici ma efficaci che consentano di effettuare analisi di screening tali da individuare le possibili criticità in quest'ambito. Il software ENVIFATE viene sviluppato nell'ambito di un progetto di ricerca ancora in corso finanziato al DICAM (Università di Trento) dalla Regione Veneto proprio per operare analisi di screening per valutare la possibilità di rischi di inquinamento ambientale nelle aree protette a seguito di pianificazione di potenziali sorgenti inquinanti. Il progetto ha previsto lo sviluppo di un'applicazione con i seguenti requisiti: i) open-source ii) multipiattaforma iii) user friendly iv) GIS oriented. Si è scelto di sviluppare una famiglia di plugin di QGIS, utilizzando un linguaggio python multipiattaforma e realizzando un modulo per ciascuna matrice ambientale considerata: fiumi, laghi, dispersione atmosferica, dispersione in falda, rumore. I plugin sono stati sviluppati a partire da una libreria di moduli lanciabili da linea di comando o da applicazioni di terze parti (es. GRASS) con un elevato livello di modularità e scalabilità. E' così anche possibile concatenare i diversi moduli in flussi di dati personalizzati.

Recharge.green project – balancing Alpine energy and nature The Alps have great potential for the use of renewable energy. Thereby they can make a valuable contribution to mitigating climate change. This, however, means increasing pressures on nature. What could be the impact of such changes on the habitats of animals and plants? How do they affect land use and soil quality? How much renewable energy can reasonably be used? The project recharge.green brings together 16 partners to develop strategies and tools for decision-making on such issues. The analysis and comparison of the costs and benefits of renewable energy, ecosystem services, and potential trade-offs is a key component in this process. The project will last from October 2012 to June 2015 and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund in the Alpine Space Programme.

Development of a software for the assessment of the structural landscape connectivity in terms of energy and ecosystem services. The software was developed in python language like an add-on of Qgis software.

The project GIFT (Geographical Information on the Flora of Tuscany1) aims to unify the knowledge about plant occurrences in Tuscany, Italy, through the digitalization into a remote geodatabase of the data associated to the specimens stored in herbaria, museums, schools and private collections. Web and stand-alone applications are organized to manage data access, while a web-GIS platform allows viewing and down- loading data through the web.
