Development of a physical layer simulator for a broadband multicarrier system. The scope is that of powerline communications. This activity falls under the European project OMEGA “Home Gigabit Networks”, concerning in-home next generation very high speed networks.

Research activity focused on wireless and power line communications.Main topics:- multicarrier multiuser communications, filtered multitone modulation (FMT), orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM);- positioning and localization techniques;- ultra wideband (UWB) transmission.Partecipation in the following research projects:- EU FP6 project AGAVE about the development of a navigation system in industrial environment based on ultra wide band modulation (January 2006 - December 2007);- EU FP7 IP OMEGA about next generation in-home high speed networks, (January 2008 - December 2008).Period of study as a visiting scientist at the Communication Engineering Department (IC) of the University of Málaga (September 2007 - December 2007).

Analysis of the state of the art techniques for localization based on ultra wideband (UWB) transmission. Identification of the specific performance of the system PulseOn produced by Time Domain Inc. This activity has led to the drafting of a technical report in the European project AGAVE “AGV navigation system based on flexible and innovative UWB positioning”.
