Manufacturing Engineering Aerospace - Special Processes Duties performed: - Redaction/Revision of dozens of technical special process docs for heat treatments of aerospace components in many steel alloys (for NPI/process optimization/NCRs) acc. to internal/customer/international specs (SAE AMS, ASTM and other specs). - Technological LAB experience: equipment; specimen preparation; mechanical properties tests; visual and metallurgical inspections (with optical microscope or SEM) for microstructure and defects; XRD; chemical analysis; in-process electrical tests. - Designing/performing/reporting Special Process Tests & Inspections for: prototyping; pre-production; qualification; feasibility; optimization; NCRs; new processing technologies; reverse engineering. - Teamworking in the Aerospace Division with many teams: Manufacturing; D&D; Materials & Processes (eng. coordination, new M&P studies and external collab. with universities and industry, missions); Quality (supplier/customer/international audits, heat treatment NADCAP audit); Supply Chain (incoming raw material, supplier external processes); collab. with Industrial Division teams. - Knowledge on other special processes: shot media peening (NADCAP audits), EBW, NDT, surface/galvanic treatments and coatings (i.e.: PVD).

Manufacturing Engineering - Materials & Processes 300 hours Erasmus+ (Student Mobility Traineeship) at UMBRAGROUP Germany (KUHN and PKE plants). Duties performed:- Studied: EDM special process and supplier approval process; regional market sourcing for alternative suppliers; Quality Controls and XRD for Retained Austenite; basic knowledge on the production of steel spheres. - Teamworking (with 15+ colleagues); found alternative suppliers; design & presentation of Test campaigns Project Proposals for supplier assessment (GANTT Diagrams with MS-Excel) projecting to save ~30% of the intially estimated time.
