I’m currently the CTO responsible for technology, people, and culture/processes at seQura. The payment platform helps people buy the things they love, paying in an instant, transparent, flexible, and fair way.We’ve grown the tech team (engineering and product) from 7 to over 85 people and contributed to the company’s growth, making over 2M users happy with our products while being profitable.We have also put in place a strategy to become a product platform, enabling us to create different products for various verticals in different geographies within the flexible payment space.

I joined Jobandtalent to help build its employment platform. Initially, I performed as a senior backend engineer, helping grow and scale the platform to over 10 million users, as well as growing the team, creating the organization, and fostering the culture.From December 2014 to December 2015, I also took on the role of Mobile Technical Lead Manager, focusing on the mobile backend and helping to coordinate Backend, Android, and iOS teams to ensure we delivered the best mobile experience.From December 2015, once the Mobile team was already set up and grown, I transitioned to Tech Lead Manager of cross-functional teams (marketplace & transactions) to create the next product features.I was also involved in recruitment and architecture.

After my start-up experience, I continued my professional career by offering my services as a freelance consultant, helping other companies in my different areas of expertise. I primarily focused on the following types of projects: • Ruby on Rails consultancy (functional prototypes/first versions of new projects, assisting larger projects in specific areas) • Management/methodologies consultancy

We created Moterus before VESNE; it was the foundation for VESNE’s core technology. We kept it running even after VESNE’s shutdown.Moterus was a social network for motorbikers. Its main goal is to be a useful tool for two-wheel enthusiasts, helping them to create and promote events, share the best biking routes with Google Maps and GPS, and meet other people with the same interests. It became the biggest motorbikers’ network in Spain with about 70k users and 3 million page views per month. Considering it as a niche market, it had quite good engagement.

co-founded my first pure Internet start-up, VESNE (Vertical Social Networks), with the goal of creating a technological platform to build hobby-oriented social networks.At VESNE, I primarily focused on: • Seeking funding • Reporting to the investors’ board • Product design • Co-leading technical managementThe platform was built using Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Sphinx, Beanstalk, and Memcached, and deployed on a cloud infrastructure (AWS).We achieved notable success with Moterus, a social network for bikers, and formed partnerships to develop communities for third parties, including a project for IKEA. Despite developing a robust platform, the company had to shut down due to the inability to secure a third round of funding at the onset of the Spanish financial crisis.Overall, it was a valuable experience that broadened my skills beyond technical tasks, providing me with insights into the start-up ecosystem, financial management, and product development.

qDevel was a web development shop using the LAMP stack, dedicated to delivering high-quality projects that emphasized both engineering excellence and customer satisfaction. For a couple of years, I took on project management while also contributing to the development efforts.We primarily created e-commerce sites, custom extranet software for a consulting agency, and public websites and extranets for the Catalan government.

I started my professional career at Eurowin, a company later acquired by SAGE in 2008. During my tenure, I achieved the following: • Technology Migration: Led the introduction of new technologies, migrating from a PERL+Microsoft stack for web applications to a PHP+MySQL+Linux environment. Following the migration, I served as a project manager and developer, focusing primarily on intranets and e-commerce sites for medium-sized client companies. • Systems Administration: Played a key role in systems administration at one of Spain’s first Internet dial-in providers. I deployed authentication systems, set up Infovia nodes, and managed essential services for customers (mail, FTP, etc.). Additionally, I undertook projects such as implementing a transparent proxy to reduce bandwidth usage and enhance browsing speed.
