My Linkedin “About” bit used to be the most boring thing in the world.I thought - like a lot of people here - that it needed to be “professional”, meaning impersonal - and saturated with silly corporate words like “management” and “demonstrable” and "return on investment".It took me a long time to go from frustrated short marketing girl to confident entrepreneurial mothership and I’d love to help YOU put yourself out there with more confidence, creativity and joy.If you are a coach or work in a purposeful company that you think people should know about, I’d love to hear from you.I don’t need to tell you here all about my 'experience', 'qualifications' or 'diverse interests' - you can have a noodle through my profile and work it out for yourself. I trust you.But if you have got this far, here is some fun stuff about me:- At the age of 24, I found myself managing all marketing activity in the UK for the world’s only art-led insurance company. Madness.- Working in insurance is NOT what anyone wakes up to do with their lives (sorry all the insurance people). I totally fell into it. BUT!... I’m so grateful I did - the story behind insurance is magical… the big bell that is tolled in Lloyd's every time a ship goes down… the sound of a quill “scratching a risk”... the coffee shop of backscratchers. The fact that brokers still run around Leadenhall market with actual paper.- I won an award for Art & Science at school and got into the 2 top Graphic Design degree courses in the country. But I chose instead to go to learn about "people" and "the world" first because I thought, "I am just a young whipper-snapper and I need to have something informed and interesting to say first... then I can start creating stuff to help others." So I did a degree in Cultural Theory & Sociology.- After that, I travelled across the world for a year on my own. But by that time I was super fascinated with Corporate Responsibility and Branding (check out Naomi Klein's seminal book of 2010, No Logo). So, I came home to do even more research into that subject as part of a Masters degree.- I read my Linkedin recommendations when I’m feeling a bit blue.- I often describe Psychotherapy as "my second language".- I’ve built a “Marketing Journey course” that lots of people love. - I stand up for good, ethical marketing and fight magic beans bullshit. - I do NOT promise to 10x your income in three easy steps!- I will not round things down to 99 or 97.- I look to provide safe spaces and self-awareness.- I want to help you change the world.

Office Manager / CommunicationsThresholds Surveyors Oct 2018 - Aug 2020London, England, United KingdomWhilst in the early days of Motherhood, when a job round the corner - near to the nursery - made sense, I worked for a chartered surveyor in drafting and proof reading structural surveys, party wall awards and valuations for residential, commercial and construction projects as well as keeping the company diary, managing the office, quoting for new business, filing and assisting in the training of new employees. It was a welcome balance to the babies and breastfeeding. -
Grants Manager / Communications ManagerThe Badur Foundation May 2016 - Jul 2017London, United KingdomThere’s nothing quite like seeing grant making from not just the giving side, but from the bowels of a Private Equity office in Mayfair. “Insight” is an understatement. The Badur Foundation’s aim is to tackle poverty through education, social enterprise and innovative technologies. The Foundation finds people and projects focused on helping marginalised and disadvantaged individuals and groups who want to help themselves improve their future prospects and those of their communities.Badur places a great deal of value on education - a focal objective for its funding and strategic support. Education, it believes, can bring about changes for those on the margins of society via better employment opportunities, job security and higher wages. The foundation also places high value on projects that it believes will challenge societal attitudes towards social exclusion, and towards those striving to bring about change in the acceptance of minority groups.Badur believes in a commercially-minded yet social approach to poverty relief, by encouraging social entrepreneurialism and through investment in innovative technologies that provide solutions for energy poverty, housing, lack of clean drinking water and pollution. It is a highly interventional, activist funder and strategic mentor to organisations wanting to play a role in the cyclical benefits of better education leading to social change for global good. We actively look for projects and also intermediaries, delivery partners and co-funders with whom we can work closely. We ‘invest’ through creative financial assistance alongside expert, practical and professional guidance, capacity building, incubation and acceleration. And we see partnership as long term. -
