Conducted print-trend research and compiled the mood boards to inspire development of a fashion-forward print collection. The research spanned womenswear from luxury to mass market, covering contemporary, denim, active, youth, intimates and basics.

Managed the testing of fabric dyes, colour mixing and matching, hand dying and hand painting of fabrics for the S/S 16 and A/W 16 apparel collections.Shadowed the creative director across the complete production process. This included liaison with the Italian factories and direct participation in the development of the outsole and heel for the A/W 16 boot.Made my own pair of shoes to gain personal experience of the commercial processes for shoe design, development and manufacturing. Designed and created the ‘Tassle Lace’ photography set for NewKid’s website and publicity. Edited photographs for commercial use.Reevaluated aesthetic and functional aspects of NewKid studio organisation from a fresh perspective and created a leather swatch book for the bespoke ‘made to order’ business.

June 2015 - Exhibited Graduate CollectionDesigned and exhibited a collection that evoked a ‘conversation’ and harmonious interplay between hand-drawn and digital designs. The final collection, which is rich with depth and texture, was inspired by the objects found in the Burrell collection and an exploration of textural drawing techniques.

July 2014 - September 2014 Studio Intern at Eley Kishimoto, London Researched and produced mood boards for the S/S 15 collection for Laura Ashley Japan, working from the narratives proposed by the head designer.Designed a hand-painted repeat pattern, ‘Joyous Crocus’. This design was selected for womenswear apparel and accessories within the Laura Ashley collection.Managed the preparation of the Eley Kishimoto wallpaper book for Decorex.Pattern copying, fabric cutting and component preparation for A/W 15 Fashion collection.Managed stock selection, shop set-up and sales at the annual Eley Kishimoto sample sale.Seeing my designs go into production has fuelled my desire to be a commercial designer reaching a rich and varied audience.

August 2013 Studio Intern at Patternity, London Undertook primary research for shoe selection for ‘Streetshapes’ A/W 13, a collaboration between Patternity, film-maker Zoe Hitchen and hosiery specialists Pretty Polly. Selected, photographed and sourced objects to inform the theme for the COS window display in London. Researched new material for Patternity image banks. My internship at Patternity opened my eyes to how everyday objects can inspire and innovate diverse design.

Internship with set designer Rae Smith at the National Theatre, London. Smith’s work provided the epic backdrop to the National Theatre’s dramatic staging of War-Horse.
