Scandinavian Clothing brands – appointed to introduce a number of new brands into the Scottish market including Pinewood (hunting and outdoor), Woolpower (merino base layers), Viking (footwear) Aclima (merino base layers) and Kozikidz (Children’s outdoor clothing). Identified market opportunities through market research and competitor analysis, developed individual business development strategies for each brand including marketing, social media, sales and PR and implemented these strategies to achieve targeted levels of market penetration. On the back of this were also appointed to market and sell both UVEX (strong German ski helmets, goggles and glasses) and Watertogo (personal water filtration system). Both these brands have achieved solid penetration within their Scottish markets. AMEC – provision of behavioural safety and management development training courses to the oil and gas industry.

In conjunction with co-director, carried out a business start up of a company involved in selling, marketing and installing driveways for the general public. Turnover increased by 20% per year due to a strong marketing plan focused on targeted communication, building a brand through providing a quality product and service and extending the product range to meet the needs of the target market. Company awarded IIP.

Company start up which grew to being accepted as the major brand for Spanish Property in Scotland. Property sales grew steadily from zero to £350k by having the right product at the right price in the location where people wanted to buy. Products were marketed through exhibitions, PR, press and TV advertising and backed up by good referrals from existing customers. B-Plan UK Ltd/ Rochester Ltd - required start up of a Scottish sales and marketing operation, focusing on development of the market for PC based financial systems targeted at the NHS. The Scottish operation quickly attained a market share of 60% with its lead costing product. Additional products added including Business Objects which were successfully sold into existing and new markets. Market Research Scotland - assistance with several research projects, including open learning and privatisation of the electricity sector. Recommendations were required for each project.Fife Enterprise – appointed as a marketing consultant to work with small companies to provide marketing assistance, coaching and strategic recommendations where appropriate. Initially a pilot scheme, which became fully operational. Work involved initial client contact, needs assessment, marketing consultancy and mentoring role. Also worked with individual clients on specific marketing projects funded by Fife Enterprise.
