I am a recent graduate of Miami University, where I earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and global intercultural studies with a minor in critical race and ethnic studies. During my time at Miami University, I was deeply involved in research focusing on minority students in inner-city schools, racial injustice, and Arab American communities. These experiences ignited my passion for understanding and advocating for underrepresented groups both locally and globally. As an AmeriCorps member with City Year, I had the privilege of serving a disadvantaged community at an elementary school. I assisted a classroom of students and school staff with students' academics as well as school events and initiatives. I also had the privilege of serving on our site's Corps Council where we would discuss issues our various school teams were facing and plan site-wide activities to foster belonging among the Corps. This service strengthened my commitment to social justice and community empowerment. This fall, I will be pursuing my Master of Arts in Ethics, Peace, and Human Rights at American University. I am eager to delve deeper into these critical areas of study and contribute to positive change on a broader scale. My career aspirations are driven by a desire to address systemic inequalities and support the development of marginalized communities, both domestically and internationally.I am actively seeking opportunities to expand my knowledge and practical skills in these fields through internships or professional experiences. I am dedicated to making a meaningful impact through my work and look forward to engaging with like-minded individuals and organizations committed to social change.
