Shine Global is an Academy Award-winning, non-profit media company producing inspiring films and compelling content about children and their families. Through tailored distribution and outreach, we connect with our audiences in communities, classrooms, museums, and on capitol hill as part of a powerful engagement campaign to encourage social change. Since our founding in 2005, Shine Global has taken action on child labor, child abuse, and child soldiering, shared moving stories about the effects of war, parental incarceration, undocumented immigration, and homelessness on children, and highlighted the power of music, dance, and sports to overcome intolerance. Responsible for planning and executing fundraising events, diversifying donor base, developing high-capacity partnerships, and raising awareness of the organization through community outreach.

The Picture House (TPH) is a nonprofit cinema arts organization, offering independent and classic films and documentaries, cultural events, and film education programs for students of all ages. As a member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the executive director, I have both internal and external facing responsibilities to further the continued growth and health of the organization.

Design and implement curriculum, and set the vision, strategy, and budget, for over 40 education programs reaching over 3500 students throughout lower Westchester. Education at The Picture House seeks to develop a deep respect for the power of cinema as an art form and it’s capacity to expand our sense of the the world as it is, or might be. We strive to provide the fundamental skills necessary for the craft of filmmaking, the art of storytelling, and media literacy, so that our students will be well equipped to thrive in our 21st century, media-saturated culture.

Responsibilities: Managed all original and commissioned film projects from first-draft and pre-production through production, post-production and distribution. Represented projects at film festivals. Managed relationships with donors, investors, technicians, producers, marketing professionals, festival coordinators, talent, and volunteers. Collaborated with teams of creative artists, industry professionals, and nonprofit clients to bring ideas to successful completion. Developed and managed project budgets, fundraising plans, production schedules and teams. Producer with the New York production team for “Sun Belt Express,” an award-winning independent film starring Tate Donovan and Rachael Harris, distributed through MarVista Entertainment, now available on demand through Netflix and other platforms.
