Als onafhankelijk adviseur vorm ik de schakel tussen beleid, praktijk en onderzoek. Ik werk aan allerlei projecten op het gebied van kringlooplandbouw en het GLB/agrarisch natuurbeheer.

Promotieonderzoek naar de beheersing van de aardappelziekte (Phytophthora infestans) in Nederland. Door middel van computermodellen, interviews en workshops heb ik onderzocht hoe resistente aardappelrassen gebruikt kunnen worden voor duurzame en effectieve beheersing van Phytophthora.

Eggs from several butterfly species were collected for two months on Oahu, Hawaii. The number of eggs parasitized by parasitic wasps was estimated and the collected wasps were reared for further experiments. In the laboratory in Riverside molecular diagnostics were used for identification of collected wasp and butterfly species. Furthermore several experiments were conducted on wasp behaviour. I conducted this research together with three fellow students from Wageningen University.

Title: The interaction between large mammals and tick abundance (Ixodes ricinus) and infection rates of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato in a national park in The NetherlandsFor this research I collected ticks from several host species within a period of three months in National Park the Hoge Veluwe. In the laboratory ticks were tested for infection with Borrelia burgdorferi s.l. using (rt-)PCR.

Board Member (part-time) of the Biology Student Association B.V.W. 'Biologica', representing approximately 600 members. In this role, I served as both Commissioner of Education and Commissioner of Sponsorship. As Commissioner of Education, I represented biology students in educational meetings, advocating for their interests and keeping them informed about key developments in the academic curriculum. In my role as Commissioner of Sponsorship, I was responsible for securing new sponsors and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with existing sponsors, ensuring a stable financial foundation for the association’s activities.
