Francine is the founder of the Singapore law firm Francine Tan Law Corporation. She has practised in IP law since 1993. She is a graduate of the Law Faculty, National University of Singapore and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1991. Francine has managed the trademark portfolios of many clients over the years and been consistently recognised by AsiaLaw and Who's Who Legal as one of the leading IP attorneys. She established her IP boutique practice in 2010 and in 2017, the firm achieved the honour of receiving the ASIA IP award for Trademark Law Firm of 2017 (Singapore). Francine has also been ranked by Managing IP and World Trademark Review 1000 as a leading trademark lawyer. The firm was accorded the honour of winning the IAM/WTR Global IP award for Singapore trademark firm of the year, at the awards ceremony which took place in London in January 2020. She was also identified by Managing IP as one of the top 250 Women in IP 2020.Francine has litigated in many opposition and revocation proceedings before IPOS. Her work includes interactions with the IP Rights Branch of the Singapore Police to deal with counterfeit products. She has also been active in trademark enforcement actions in Singapore, as well as in copyright and design infringement matters.Francine has since 2002 served as a WIPO Panelist for domain name disputes. She also serves as a Panelist for the National Arbitration Forum (NAF), the Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (ADNDRC) and the Czech Arbitration Court.
