I am a hardworking, self-motivated scientist. Humor is important in any workplace environment. I thrive in workplaces that take a hands-off approach to management, and in the future I will encourage that same approach.Much of my work has been in analytical chemistry, biology, and pharmacology. In my current position at NIH I work in the Laboratory of Clinical Pharmacology which allows me to use my previous analytical skills while simultaneously learning new ones. A major part of my job is assay development for novel therapeutics. Typically this is done using LC/MS, LC/MS/MS. or ELISA. Following the acquisition of preliminary data, I can then use data and modeling software such as R, Julia, and NONMEM to extrapolate into larger simulated populations. It is my goal to attend graduate school where I hope to conduct research studying the molecular mechanisms driving the progression of cancer, identification of novel therapeutic targets, and development of therapeutics for the those targets. I have particular interest in understanding how we can leverage novel techniques like bio-orthogonal chemistry to therapeutic advantage with both small molecule and T cell therapies.
