GROW is an innovative market development initiative with a mission to make agricultural markets work better to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Liberia. The goal of Grow is to reduce poverty and increase stability in Liberia for 230,000 poor women, men and youth in targeted agricultural markets by facilitating systemic market change across a variety of sectors.Grow continually adapting and refining programme interventions to deliver maximum impact. GROW Liberia is funded by the Government of Sweden through the Swedish International Development Corporation Agency (SIDA) and implemented by Adam Smith International - ASIKey responsibilities: • Advise and develop training programs for fertilizers, seeds and insecticides • Training, follow-up engagement with agro-dealers, sales agents and farmers - with extensive (about 70%) travel throughout Liberia.• Marketing and product awareness and advisory support to agro dealers and farmers• Set-up model farms as sales points for agro dealers and sales agents. • Advise agro-dealers on sales tied to planting season and farmer engagement strategies.• Advise and support GROW team and partners as needed.Key achievements:• Developed training manuals on Good Agricultural Practices on vegetable productions • Trained 28 agro dealers and 180 lead farmers (sales agents) on agronomy and product knowledge • Directly trained 5000 farmers on Good Agricultural Practices. • Indirectly trained over 20,000 farmers on Good Agricultural Practices using sales agent’s model. • Supported and trained agro dealers on inventory management, customer and sales tracking, profit and loss statement and sales agent’s management. • Trained farmers adopted Good Agricultural Practices and proper farming methods• Set-up modeled farms as sales points for agro dealers and sales agents. • Lead farmers building relationship with agro dealers.

JKBA is a multinational company with over 30 acres farmland as part of its investments. The production focuses local vegetables, and mostly supplies to regular clients, local markets, shopping malls and veg suppliers such as HRM, Eden Tree Limited, VEPEAG, etc. Key responsibilities: • Crop budgeting and planning in accordance with the requirements of the company • Managing P&L, budgets, and production forecasting• Producing crops for economic purposes via the art and science of agricultural activities • Conducting agronomy training and extension services to JKBA out grower farmers• Liaise with the Ghana Green Label Scheme (GGLS) and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) to ensure Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) systems are in place and followed, geared towards certification, aimed at promoting safe food production, postharvest handling and distribution using good and environmentally sustainable agricultural practices on the farm• Marketing and sales of harvested farm produce • Maintaining farm records and report to the Managing Director

Eden Tree Limited is a leading producer and distributor of high-end fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs in Ghana. Fundamental mission is to promote healthy eating habits in the country by producing, packaging, and supplying high quality vegetables, fruits, and herbs to the Ghanaian market.Key responsibilities: • Crop budgeting and planning in accordance with the requirements of the company • Cultivated crops for economic purposes via the art and science of agricultural activities • Conducted agronomy training and extension services to Eden Tree out grower farmers • Supervised and coordinated harvesting of crops for timely delivery to the processing center. • Maintained farm records and reported to the Managing Director.

Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association of Ghana (VEPEAG) is a national organization dulyregistered with the Registrar General. The main activities and operational areas of the Association are production of vegetables for international and local markets, supply of seeds and agro chemicals.Key responsibilities: • Supervised and coordinated registered farmers agronomy activities • Conducted training and provided extension services to over 500 registered farmers• Scheduled and visited farms to inspect farm activities and provided technical recommendations.• Implemented and maintained agronomic quality standards across all the farm estates. • Developed production guides on crops for farmers• Evaluated new production locations and recommended appropriate crops per climatic conditions• Supervised and coordinated harvesting of crops for timely delivery to the processing center.• Supervised primary post-harvest processing and packaging of vegetables for export. • Maintained records and reported to the Managing Director.
