I am an enthusiastic, hard-working individual that develops genuine interest and care for whatever I apply myself to. Currently, I am a student at the University of Newcastle, where I am hoping to become a successful environmental scientist that strives for a greener, more sustainable future. I will need teamwork to achieve this, a skill I have already gained from my time working in various hospitality roles. While working, I was tasked with managing other co-workers and dealing with difficult situations from customers. To effectively navigate these tasks, I collaborated with my fellow staff to work together with the customers using calm and effective communication. As a result, I was offered further group responsibilities, which reflected my ability to work well in a team. Pursuing a career in this field will also require immense amounts of hard work and time management, which in my bachelor’s degree of Climate Science I have been improving. Tasked with many assignments and in short time frames it has been challenging to keep on top of it all. To tackle these challenges, I set myself small attainable goals, enabling me to manage the workload and keep focused on my tasks. In doing this, I have been able to maintain a keen interest in my work, while achieving high grades. With my passion for the environment and these skills, I'm confident in my ability to become an environmental scientist.
