As a field applications engineer in the Materials and Structural Analysis Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific, I provide world-class technical support to our organization and our customers:⋄ Our customers. My primary responsibility has been to our customers and their success. I have provided onsite and remote trainings for Tomography and Single Particle Cryo-TEM on Thermo Fisher Scientific Autoloader (Krios, Arctica, Glacios) systems. This includes single particle sample preparation, suggestions for optimal data collection, and structure reconstruction. I also serve as the IT stakeholder in our team and provide customized solutions to integrate our microscopes into our customers’ internal networks and cloud providers.⋄ Our service organization. I have provided technical trainings to service engineers, service supervisors, and service managers in the AMER and APAC regions in advanced microscope alignments and data collections targeted towards our customers’ needs in single particle Cryo-TEM and Tomography. This includes educating our field organization on the newest technologies in Cryo-TEM released by our business unit, and providing support for system acceptance tests post-installation. I have also developed a cloud data processing pipeline using Amazon Web Services (AWS) for use in the reconstruction of data for our Workflow Validation offering.⋄ Our sales organization. As a subject matter expert in Micro Electron Diffraction (MicroED) I have given pre-sales conferences in Shanghai, Campinas , and Otago to inform customers the benefits of MicroED for their studies and to promote Thermo Fisher offerings in MicroED world-wide. I have also provided MicroED data collection and data processing trainings for our Hillsboro and Netherlands Nanoports.⋄ Our product marketing and development organization. As a subject matter expert in MicroED I have advised R&D, product marketing, and product development for the development of Thermo Fisher’s MicroED product offering.
