This was an elected position held by one of the Chiefs of Pharmacy and Therapeutics at the twenty-one Kaiser Permanente medical centers in Northern California. It involved coordinating the decisions for formulary additions and deletions for the approximately 5 million commercial members. It also involved oversight of two other formularies. The committee performed the final evaluation of new medications in the process of updating our formularies. The job also involved working with committees related to medication safety and detailing our physicians on evidence based prescribing of our formulary medications.
