Collaborated on the hardware and software architecture for the Reference Automation Environment (RAE) hardware appliance to introduce an edge compute platform for certification testing, leveraging MQTT as the backbone communication channel.Led team evaluating legacy Netflix Test Studio (NTS) architecture and performance to produce a multi-year roadmap, which resulted in the implementation of our next generation certification infrastructure. Managed team of SDETs responsible for both manual and automated testing of all ground systems UIs and REST APIs for real-time, low latency (middle tier server to browser connection via WebSockets) ground and satellite telemetry processing, data analytics, command and control, satellite positioning and image processing.Reviewed hardware specs in detail to design and build a software emulation of the satellite’s communications stack which allowed engineers for the first time to have virtual “satellites on demand”, which greatly accelerated our ability to both develop and system test without competing for limited benchtop hardware availability.Ran the satellite emulator in multiple threads simulating multiple satellites in orbit continually coming in and out of contact, which identified a number of performance bottlenecks and deadlocks in our system.
