I have research experience in the electronic properties of materials. In my PhD research I focused on the magnetotransport properties of organic semiconductors, while in my Master's research I focused on the magnetotransport properties of III-V semiconductors. I would like to apply the knowledge of (organic) semiconductors or magnetic materials I have aquired in during my research experience to the development of new technologies.Specialties: Organic semiconductors, III-V semiconductor MBE, spintronics and magnetic materials, semiconductor processing, instrument control.

ScientistTmc Apr 2014 - Dec 2015Worked a device physicist at OLED technologies via TMC. Currently looking for a new project. -
Oled Device PhysicistOled Technologies B.V. Apr 2014 - Apr 2015HeerlenWorked as a device physicist at OLED technologies via TMC. Developed OLED stacks for use in inkjet printed OLED displays. I was involved in the complete stack design process: simulating new stacks via optical simulations, vacuum thermal evaporation to deposit the stack, and evaluating the performance of the stacks. To better spread my knowledge with in the company I was tasked with preparing some presentations to teach other technical people within the company the basics of OLED device physics. -
ScientistNovaled Nov 2011 - Dec 2013Dresden Area, GermanyDesigned OLED stacks in order to evaluate Novaled materials in customer applications. The work was both for internal development (in order to improve Novaled materials) and external developement (as contract research for OLED lighting and OLED display producers). I evaluated both materials performance and designed new stacks to get better OLED performance. I introduced a new characterization technique (Admittance spectroscopy) to determine charge carrier mobility and automated the process such that it became a standard test at the company. I also participated in a series of lectures to teach other scientists the fundamentals of device physics in OLEDs.

Graduate Student ResearcherEindhoven University Of Technology Jan 2006 - Dec 2010I worked on determining the orgins of the OMAR (organic magnetoresistance) effect. I created devices characterized them and did simulations to help determine the origin of the effect. I was highly involved in electrical characterization; writing all the instrument control code for the measurements, as well as creating new methods of characterization. The work resulted in two first author papers in Physical Review Letters as well as other first author publications and coauthorships. I also helped second year physics students with their lab practicals. -
Graduate Student ResearcherUniversity Of California, Santa Barbara Sep 2003 - Nov 2005I worked in the field of semiconductor spintronics. Specifically I grew semiconductor crystals by MBE and used lithographic techniques to proces the material in order to make GaAs based spintronics devices. I used AFM, SQUID magnetometry, and electrical transport measurements in order to characterize the device and the material. I also was a teaching assistant for the intro to materials science course, where I lead problem sets for undergraduate students. -
Radiation Safety TechnicianUniversity Of Minnesota May 2002 - Apr 2003I worked in research labs and the University of Minnesota Medical Center, deliverying radioisotopes as well as checking labs for radiation safety compliance.

Nsf-Reu Summer Research InternCornell University Jun 2001 - Aug 2001Summer internship at Cornell University Department of Materials Science and Engineering working on optimizing charge injection into organic light emitting diode devices. Worked under the supervision of Professor George Malliaras.
-
Urop Summer InternshipUniversity Of Minnesota May 2000 - Sep 2000I worked in the group of Prof. Lorraine Francis at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science where I fabricated carbon-black latex composites and tested their mechanical and electrical properties.
