I review and analyze engineering, pre-clinical, and clinical data in a variety of premarket applications. I provide recommendations on data intended to demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of medical devices, as well as policy associated with device approval. I provide subject matter expertise for neurostimulation devices, electrical safety, electro-magnetic compatibility, software, and cybersecurity.

Working in the Neuroprosthetics Research Lab (www.NPRLab.org) under the mentorship of Dr. Kevin Otto. My primary responsibilities revolve around interfacing with peripheral and central neurophysiology to improve, replace, or repair neurological function. In particular understanding the central effects of peripheral neural stimulation. Overall, as a group, our mission is to better understand neural interfaces at all levels, from biological to mechanical to electrophysiological.

Developed and studied models of neurodegenerative disorders such epilepsy and neurological tumors. In particular I studied the application of drug delivery techniques, particularly convection enhanced delivery, and the impact of disease on drug delivery methods. Using imaging modalities including MRI, fluorescence microscopy, IVIS, and immunohistochemistry to look at changes in tissue environments relative to disease progression and treatment.Furthermore, I used EEG and behavioral measures to study disease progression and outcomes from a functional standpoint in support of the mechanical aspects of the tissue.

Operated chemical vapor deposition equipment for the construction and study of organic electronic devices and organic light emitting diodes. Furthermore, I tested the electrical and optical properties of these organic light emitting diodes for use in various electronic applications.

Assisted in animal experimentation, measuring optical properties of infarcted cardiac tissue, debugging software, and troubleshooting hardware of optical systems.
