Quality Manager in LafargeHolcim’s Montcada i Reixac Cement Plant in Barcelona, Spain. A French market oriented Cement Plant. In charge of: 1 Lab Manager and 2 quality control and assurance operators. All Quality matters in the plant with a 360º vision and responsibility. From the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and all relations with AENOR and AFNOR to assuring the quality of all products, managing all control cards of the different sections of the plant, all audits and assuring customer satisfaction including visits to customers when required (same tasks and responsibilities as in my previous position in Valencia but in a different market (Catalonia/France)

Quality Manager in LafargeHolcim’s Sagunto Cement Plant in Valencia, Spain. An Oil & Gas oriented cement plant. In charge of: 1 Lab Manager and 5 quality control and assurance operators. Safety in the quality department. A Quality Management System based on ISO 9001:2015 and API Q1 9th Edition, being the complete owner of the QMS and making sure it’s always up to date and all processes of the plant comply with it (including writing and distributing ISO and API quality manuals, procedures, instructions and formats throughout the plant). All plant relations with the certifying bodies: AENOR, AFNOR, API. All customer claims and paying usual visits to our customers All quality audits in the plant performed by the different certifying bodies and customers (6 audits per year). Carrying out internal audits of LafargeHolcim’s sister plants in Spain and around the world according to ISO 9001, API Q1 and API 10A Spec standards (vast lead internal auditor experience through several audits). All control cards of all sections of the plant (from quarry to dispatched cement) in which I set the targets and limits to be applied to various chemical and physical parameters to assure compliance of the final products with international standards and customer requirements. Designing brand new clinkers or cements to meet special customer requirements (my greatest achievement is our brand new Low Alkali Portland Clinker for the Grand Paris project construction). The risk assessment and contingency planning for all quality related topics for all our products and processes. Budget for the quality department. All Quality KPI’s. Current Quality database (LIMS) and the previous one (QIMS). Member of the plant management team. Member of Group’s Oil & Gas steering committee. Member of the plant’s electrical consumption optimization team.

Laboratory Manager in Lafarge’s Ewekoro II 5000 clinker tons per day Cement Plant in Ogun State, Nigeria. In charge of: 14 quality control and assurance operators. Safety in the laboratory. Raw mix preparation and control of the raw mill’s and cement mills’ chemistry to comply with the group’s KPI’s and customer requirements. Writing, revising and assuring the implementation of the SOP’s in the laboratory. Carrying out and assuring the calibration of all laboratory equipment (including the XRF). All consumable purchases for the laboratory. Implementing Lafarge’s Quality Technical Specifications (LQTS > 95 %) in the laboratory to assure precision and accuracy of the measurements (LAI 100% in 2013).  Devising and launching experimental plans to resolve recurring problems or meet a specific customer requirement. The mathematical data analysis to prepare all the quality review meetings with the Plant’s managerial team and Technical Sales Department. In charge of representing the plant in the preparation of the quality contract with the customer. Acting Quality Manager 3 months per year due to QM’s leave entitlement. Member of the committee for mastering the specific heat consumption of the kiln. Member of the Automation Improvement Committee: in charge of rewriting the functional specifications to make them easier to understand for the Control Room Operators.

Lakatabu Project for the construction of a 5000 clinker tons per day Cement Plant and a 90 MW Power Plant in Ogun State, Nigeria.As Quality Manager, in charge of: Ensuring that tests and procedures referred to in the Quality Control Plans in the different contracts are properly understood and carried out by the contractors.  Evaluating the test results from a technical standpoint and responsible for the non conformities. Setting up and maintaining the document control department. One worker, the Document Controller, under my supervision.As Schedule Controller, in charge of: Checking and following up the different contractors’ schedules and reporting to Site and Project Managers on the actual and future delays encountered vs the manpower used by the contractors so that a corrective action can be put in place swiftly to avoid delays.As Site Cost Controller, in charge of: Verifying all the invoices and keeping the accountability of the construction Site.As Power Plant Commissioning Deputy Site Manager, in charge of: Mechanical and electrical commissioning departments (4 engineers under my supervision). Civil, mechanical and electrical punch lists. Supervising the execution of the performance and reliability tests. Personally making all the necessary engine-generator calculations to verify that the contractor (Wartsila Finland Oy) passed all the performance and reliability guarantees as per contract. Issuing the different certificates when appropriate to the Power Plant contractor: end of erection certificate, industrial production certificate, performance and reliability tests certificates and provisional acceptance certificate of the Power Plant.
