A sales based career development program, I had the privilege to participate in professional development, weekly presentation competitions, and strategic support to the business model of the company. I was a part of a prestigious group of 18 young professionals (enrolled in a university and post grad) with aspirations to pursue a career in financial services sales, most with prior experience and education in sales. We fostered an environment degree of competition adopting the mantra "iron sharpens iron" and pushing each other to demand the best from ourselves. During my time as a participant in the FSCDP program I...-Won the annual "Boiler Room" sales competition with my teammates against my peers in a high stakes, high preparation environment requiring in depth research about long term investment strategies, the American economy, and Jackson's competitive advantages to its clients.-Won two of the monthly competitions that are based out of a composite score that takes into account graded client inquiry calls, weekly competitive presentations, and various other performance indicators against my group of peers.-Won annual "Shark Tank" competition with help of teammates against my peers in the program final competition. Competition required partnership and research of various business functions within the company as well as creative thinking/problem solving looking to answer a concern within the financial industry.-Won overall winner of the program as a result of winning both annual program competitions, monthly competitions, serving as a reliable resource for my peers, creating and fostering a competitive environment, and effectively demonstrating all skills.-Made some lifelong friends

I worked for three semesters (two different individual school years) as a Resident Assistant at Michigan State in the West Circle neighborhood serving a diverse and wide range of students. I joined a small and elite group becoming an RA as a Freshman/First Year student. I was asked to help serve my university after a handful of RA's stepped away from their role as gun violence directly effected the community. During my internship I worked closely for the Materials Office at the Plastic Omnium CES plant in Huron, Michigan. I took a special interest in Material Flow Management and Scheduling where I...-Worked on a project for Lean Receiving through an updated EDI system increasing our receiving teams efficiency and allowed for the removal of physically inputting shipment notices-Worked on an Inventory Management project to create a more updated and accurate material tracking system as well as introduce an efficient Kanban system.-Utilized an industry standard EDI (SAP) and became proficient in the program.-Was formally trained on document control and its importance.-Updated and Created documents integral to the manufacturing process of the Plant-Worked as a member of a newly formed team consistently using effective communication, different questioning strategies and role/personality identification to become a contributing part of a data driven and successful team.

For 5 years I worked as a Mason alongside my father who became my mentor within the career. My father (Francisco Hernandez) is a self-employed professional Mason boasting over 30 years of experience in the trade.
