General Overview:Development of programmable hardware for the NEDA neutron detector and the gamma-rayspectrometers GALILEO and AGATA. Test and integration with nuclear experimentalset-ups.Detailed achievements:- Developed and debugged programmable hardware in two Xilinx FPGAs (Virtex-5/Virtex-6) for the NEDA neutron detector, involving tasks of real-time digital signal processing,queuing systems and development of control interfaces.- Integrated and verified the electronics of NEDA in the GANIL laboratories in views forthe nuclear physics campaign with very successful results.- Improved features of the electronics of the AGATA/GALILEO pre-processing modules,focusing on system stability, resource consumption and synchronization improvement.- Upgraded the overall Global Trigger and Synchronization (GTS) system by means of anIPBUS-based control interface applied in the GALILEO detector. The solution was aimedat reducing the system complexity, and to solve the bugs in the trigger functionality.Tools used: Eclipse(C++), Xilinx ISE(VHDL).- Documented the developments on the GTS system upgrade and on NEDA detectorsystem.

General overview:Development of a fast digitizer for high-resolution gamma-ray spectrometers and a test platform for its verification.Detailed achievements:Developed a fast-sampling Mezzanine card usable in multiple applications for high-resolutiongamma-ray spectroscopy. Applied in: - High-purity germanium EXOGAM array detector. - Fast neutron detectors NEDA and Neutron Wall - Charged-particle CsI-based detector DIAMANT. - VAMOS spectrometerTools used: Cadence, PSpice.Developed a customized test platform in order to commission the suitability of a the aforementioned Mezzanine for nuclear physics experiments. The test system consists of an adaptation board, acustomized firmware for board control and data acquisition, and a LabView-based software tool which allows captures and analyses the data in views of a data quality test. Tools used: LabView,ISE(VHDL) and Cadence.
